PERSONAL STATEMENTIn my works, I create unique worlds where abstract spaces and landscapes are inhabited by mysterious, fantastical creatures, objects, and forms. Each piece is a self-contained abstract ecosystem in which space, shape, and color influence one another, visually interacting as a whole.
By building these autonomous worlds that develop and live according to their own logic, I strive to understand how our world, nature, and society evolve and exist. My works are about the beauty and diversity of our planet — its landscapes, flora, and fauna — as well as about humankind and its place within nature.
At the same time, they are also fantasies about the possibility that all the richness of our world may be only a drop in an ocean of incredible life forms — knowledge of which is, for now, beyond our reach.
I want these worlds to be perceived wordlessly, nonverbally — to become a universal visual language for people of different cultures, ages, and life experiences, drawing them in through the combination of unusual, vivid forms that appeal to the viewer’s imagination. Each person perceives them in their own unique and unrepeatable way, and that is why another theme I explore is the subjective perception of reality.
To avoid interfering with the viewer’s experience or dictating what they should see, I use arbitrary combinations of Latin letters, numbers, and symbols as titles — creating “international,” yet at the same time abstract, otherworldly ciphers. These become unique passwords, coordinates, or formulas for each work — their meaning deliberately left open.
